I'm a DJ, radio host and curator, driven by a simple belief:

great music deserves to be heard
great talent deserves a platform.

DJ, Curator and Founder, building dancefloors with purpose across the world.

After completing my DJ training at the London Sound Academy in 2017, I began building my presence across the UK electronic music scene.
Since then, I’ve held multiple DJ residencies and hosted radio shows on global stations for over four years, including House 559 Music and Data Transmission Radio (where I was previously known as DJ Alex-An).

My sets blend house, soulful rhythms and disco dancefloor-driven energy, shaped by years of experience, reading crowds and creating memorable moments behind the decks.

Through my platforms Écouter and Picante , I’m working to spotlight underrepresented female DJs and help create a more balanced and inclusive music industry.

Ecouter
Music

My passion for supporting women in music came from a report that over two-thirds of European music acts are male-only. This shocking statistic, unfortunately, represents the inequality women still face in the music industry.

Ecouter aims to promote & create a network of undiscovered female musicians, artists, and DJs, through live events, providing an unbiased platform for females to showcase their talents.

Ecouter Music has worked with Red Bull, Smirnoff Vodka and AIIM Music on various women in music campaigns and has been featured in several local news publications in the UK.

Since its launch and the support found in the Ecouter’s network, the first featured artists have gone on to release EEPs, radio shows, tours and work with notable producers.

“The current gender inequality in the music industry is at a breaking point. As a female DJ (Vanessa Mallia), I have noticed the constant struggle to gain exposure and am aware of the increasingly unbalanced ratio of female to male performers.

I have created Écouter as a platform, so unheard female talent can finally be recognised”

Picante

Having witnessed first-hand the inequality in live lineups, the Picante project aims to showcase local talent that often goes unheard and build communities that celebrate diverse voices & skills in creating and playing electronic music.
